Simple and easy to make mixed berry chia jam is packed with omega-3 fatty acids and is much healthier than the store bought jams that are full of sugar. It is very light, and it spreads nicely on any toast.

Yield: Makes about 1.5 cups


Step by Step method

  • Step 1

    In a large saucepan, combine frozen blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and vanilla extract. Bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for another 5-7 minutes until berries become juicy and thick. Remove from heat.

  • Step 2

    With a potato masher or a fork, mash the berries lightly. Stir chia seeds and maple syrup (optional) into the berry mixture until well combined. Pour jam into a glass jar with a lid and refrigerate until chilled. Spread on your favorite toast or use as a topping for oatmeal.
